Week In Review Vol. 3

 
Its Easter Weekend!
It's also the start to a fun filled weekend out of town with Josh!
By the time you wake up and read this we'll probably be waiting in line to ride a roller coaster or maybe grabbing breakfast. Either way we're going to have a blast.

I helped celebrate N's birthday with Katie! Pole dancing classes, wine, VIP, more drinks....
Double dates with Josh & his friends, bowling and more! It was a fun filled weekend & I recapped it with Sami & all her Shenanies!

My BFF bloggy friend Kayla took over my blog for the day here and I took over hers!
She was my first blog friend that I spoke to on the phone. We're so much alike. & the best part is she's getting married to the man of her dreams in October! I can't wait to go to her wedding!

I told y'all how Sams is my happy place! Literally. Especially on the weekends when you can sample all kinds of food. I love that I can buy in bulk and its cheaper than buying one item from wal-mart or target.
My brother Josh has to put his dog down as well. Tucker was 10.5 years old, had really bad arthritis in his back legs and quit eating 2 days ago. He was vomitting any water he was intaking so it was just time. Such a sad day for my family when one of our pets goes to doggy Heaven.
 
Friday
Fat to Fit Friday is back and I had a guest post from a sponsor! Make sure you meet Cece! She's a friend of a friend and we didn't even know it! AirXersise

 
Do you have a Rebounderz in your city?
My friend Katie {IG: getfitkatie} is always looking into a new exercise/challenge for us to try.
Can I just say this is the worst quality she has!
Until we went to Rebounderz.
An hour of JUMPING on a trampoline, doing 1 minute exercises of jumping jacks, burpees, push ups, crunches, sit ups, wall sits, lunges, you name it we did it.
It was a blast & definitely a full body work out.
 
 
 
1. Super excited to try out Rebounderz & my BradyBands headband!
2. What am I getting myself into with this crazy girl.
3. 1000 calories burned in 1 hour? I'll take that!
4. Mid way through our fitness class.
5. DONE!
6. Of course I needed pictures for a post so we did splits in the air!

Needless to say this morning I'm feeling the effects of a nice good work out.
 
Remember when you were about 8-11 years old and you had a trampoline?
Remember how exhausted you felt after jumping for 5 minutes?
No? Just me?
Well try jumping an entire hour with only a few seconds in between each exercise.
For only $12 a class I'm definitely going back and bringing more friends with me!

Good morning from Texas!!!
I am guest posting for Jenna today and I couldn’t be more excited. I joined in on the Fat to Fit Friday Link up with Jenna, Marcy and Lori last week and I was super excited about the turn out. It was great! I had received so many compliments and was also introduced to like-minded bloggers such as myself. And I cannot tell you how important that is when you are losing weight.
You know what people say about that whole 6 degrees of separation... Well Jenna was a bridesmaid in Ashley’s wedding. Ashley and I were co-workers for about 6 months while her husband was going to school at Texas A&M Galveston. Crazy right??! See what happens when you get out there and Link-up! Haha!
So today I wanted to talk more about Motivation on going from Fat to Fit, since it is Fat to Fit Friday!!!
I am far from fit right now, but every single day we get closer and closer to our goals. Yesterday on my blog I talked about Results and how if, us as women, do not see results we get discouraged, unmotivated etc… But I am here to tell you that after my own personal trial and error you have to push yourself to see those results that you want. For months I was half-assing it in the gym; running a mile on the treadmill and then switch to the elliptical for a mile. I had lost 10 pounds slowly…very slowly like this.
 But when Jeremy and I got a new gym membership we got a free session with a trainer. The trainer told me that I needed to be incorporating strength training into my workouts at least 3-4 days a week. Why? Because cardio only burns calories in the moment, but strength training burns calories well after your workout! Make sense?
I have also added in Interval training on the treadmill. And let me tell you, it burns WAY more calories than just straight running. In 20 Mins of interval training you can burn 95% more calories that you would just running/jogging for 20 mins. Want proof? Of course you do!

What my daily food intake/schedule looks like:
I wake up at 3:15am to walk the dog and get ready to go to the gym.
We work out from 4am – 5am. Get back home and I fix a protein shake with frozen fruit. Protein shakes are VERY important to your workout. Protein helps repair muscles that you just got finished breaking down in the gym. On the way to work I sip on my cup of coffee, and eat my oatmeal. Somewhere between 9 and 10:30 I manage to fit in my morning snack. Which usually consists of either a thinkThin protein bar (Caramel Fudge is my Fav!) or fruit (orange, grapes etc..) I eat lunch from 11:30 – 12:30 which is usually chicken, veggies and a spinach salad. Then I have my afternoon snack around 3 – 3:30pm and its usually a cup of chopped fruit (grapes, strawberries, blueberries) or a Fiber bar. And I recently tried the Luna Fiber bars, so far the Chocolate Raspberry is my fav! I get home about 4:25pm and walk Lady and then I work out with Jillian (30Day Shred) If you have not heard of this workout DVD you are seriously missing out! She will make you sweat, cry, cuss and then some! But I love it! I can feel it already getting better and today will be my 4th day! I am already getting stronger and my endurance is building.
We eat dinner between 6:30-7:30 and I usually eat a fiber bar @30 min before bed because it helps keep things moooving! lol.. I dont count calories. I feel like if you know that what your putting in your mouth is healthy, and your not choosing fast food or crap food, then there is no reason to count calories. Especially after you've been doing it for awhile! But if counting is your thing, then you go girl! It never worked for me...it over stressed me big time!

And just by doing this and eating healthier I have been able to drop my first 17.6 lbs in just 2 months. And I am soo motivated by the results that I have already seen! I have seen my arms go from fat to getting slimmer.
I have seen the muscles in my legs start to form, my back start to shape up and lose all that nasty back fat.
Seriously, if your looking for motivation; I will be there for you. Because you help me stay motivated. I hope to inspire you to kick it up a notch this weekend. I hope to inspire you to start making healthier choices if you don’t already. We are all in this fight together, we all deserve to take care of ourselves. We all deserve to look hot in any outfit and even naked!

Sams is my happy place

Lately life has been rough. Work has been crazy. Sleep has been little. I haven't worked out in a few days. A vacation is much needed.
Crazy thing is I'm getting a mini vacation away from everything. Social media will be none. Maybe a few IG pictures from the trip or I may just save them all for next week. Just depends on how much I miss "stalking" all you lovely people. 

I bought a Living Social deal a few weeks ago to Sams. I honestly believe its my happy place. Every weekend I want to be there. Thursday night I went to show my brother their meat department. Completely random but much needed. He does all the cooking at our house.

Then this happened. 

 

It was definitely much needed. That & a bubble bath.
 

I think someone else was needed a wine night. No worries he didn't get any. 

What's better than a glass of wine and Big Bang Theory?

1. What are your thoughts on your girlfriend's blog?
I like it. Its nice to see how you experience things and how you view it. I like to look for spelling errors.

2. Do you know what IG stands for? How about OOTD?
IG=example? no thats IE. Whats it stand for? Incognito?
Me: IG stands for Instagram.
J: I'm sure thats not what it stands for just geek talk. Or Blog talk.
OOTD= I have no idea. I've never heard of that. "Out of time Dammit?"

Meet Kayla {bloggy BFF}

Hey pretties oh & Josh & Brian!  I'm Kayla from over at Keeping Up With Kayla.  If you don't know me then you should.

You see, Jenna is seriously one of my best friends.  I'm so thankful to this blog world for bringing her into my life.  She was the first person I talked to outside of blogging so she will always have a special spot in my heart! We text every single day and it never gets old.  We send tons of silly pictures to each other and we G-chat at work.  BFF for sure!

First of all, she is a fur-mom like me and thinks her babies are her children too.
Here's our loves:
  Hi there, cuties! :)  See, aren't they adorable!?!? 

It's amazing to have someone in your life that knows when you are sad or happy just by a text message.  But that's exactly what Jenna is to my life.  

And we both have WONDERFUL men in our lives.  This has been a topic of many conversations. And we both know how much they honestly LIGHT UP our lives.  We get to giggle together about the cute things they've done and help each other out when we know we've done something wrong or acted badly toward our men.  She is that kind of friend, a true kind.  One that will not walk out on you just because she finds someone more popular or prettier.  Jenna is the friend you want in your life.  I encourage every one of you to take every opportunity this blogging world gives you because she just might turn out to be your best friend.
 
I am so thankful that my beautiful friend has such a good man in her life.  She deserves all the happiness in the world and I think he has the key to that happiness.  
And I can't wait to call her when she gets a certain sparkly something on her finger! ;)

Weekend Shenanigans vol.4

 

Once again its Monday.
I'm linking back up with Sami for my crazy weekend shenanigans.
Why must the weekends be so short and the work week drag on for days?
This weekend was pretty full of all things amazing.
It all started with N's birthday celebration.
We pole danced, ate these sweet little treats, drank wine and laughed the entire time.
 

So much fun in these two little pictures.
 
  Ovinte is a new wine bar here in town that completely stole my heart. They have these "wine machines" that you can choose how much you want of that specific wine.
I need that machine in my house please!

 Next up, we were VIPs at Suite and had free drinks the entire night. It was really supposed to be for an hour but everyone kept buying us drinks since we were with the birthday girl! I kid you not everyone thought the 3 of us were related!

Thank God for asprin and sleeping in.
We didn't get to go skydiving due to the weather. We've already rescheduled it for 2 weeks away! Lets hope next time the weather will be on our side.Or maybe thats God's way of saying not to jump out of a perfectly fine airplane? Who knows.

The rest of the weekend was spent with J. We ended up going on a double date to dinner, bowling & games at Dave & Busters.

I still wrote about my Mid Week Randoms like jumping out of a plane on Sunday {tomorrow}, looking at flights to Cincy to visit with Marcy and run a 5k with her, a huge lunch fail but I was still under my cal. count & selfies! Because as much as everyone post on IG their selfies I also like to take them too. No matter how many crazy looks I get.
 
Thursday:
I wrote about my sucky day that happened on Wednesday, how I lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks & reminded everyone about Fat to Fit Fridays that I'm hosting along with Marcy & Lori! It's not too late to join in on the link up especially if you want motivation.
 
Friday:
Fat to Fit Fridays was a huge success! I'm so excited that so many have linked up with us for our first Fat to Fit Friday Series! There's so many amazing stories and each are so completely different.

This week I have completely slacked! As in I haven't worked out all week.
I have watched what I've been eating though.
Counting calories isn't as hard as you may think.

I've had subway flat bread sandwiches and salads pretty much all week with the exception of a sinful buffalo ranch chicken sandwich from Chili's.

oh Thursday....

I'm so glad to see you today.
 Yesterday was a drag.
The morning started off amazing.
I stood on the scale & it screamed at me that I've lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks! I'll take that!
Made it to work on time then by 10 all hell broke lose.
Huge alligator tears fell because SOMEONE crushed my personality.
Little do they know that a fake Jenna will be introduced when their around.
I am who I am because of what I've gone through in my 27 years.
 
 
I needed a hug, reassurance maybe even a high five and my favorite people came to my rescue.
Thank you Josh & Kayla!
You two never cease to amaze me!
 
 
 
If this isn't the truth then I don't know what is.
How true is this!
I needed to read exactly those words.

 
 
I'm getting my hair highlighted in hopes to be blonde again.
